Maureen Brown brings a founder’s perspective to M&A advisory, having built, scaled, and successfully sold a company herself.

As co-founder and CEO of Mosie Baby, Maureen helped create the at-home insemination category in the United States, taking the Mosie Baby Kit from concept to a patented, FDA-cleared Class II medical device sold online and in more than 4,000 retail stores. Under her leadership, the company served more than 125,000 families, raised institutional capital, and navigated the complex regulatory, manufacturing, e-commerce, and retail requirements of building a national consumer healthcare brand.

Maureen led Mosie Baby through a successful strategic acquisition, managing the transaction from beginning to end, including preparation of the data room, due diligence, deal terms, and post-close transition. It is that firsthand experience that she brings to both the financial and personal considerations business owners face when preparing to sell a company they have spent years building.

Before founding Mosie Baby, Maureen spent a decade in major-gifts fundraising at The University of Texas at Austin, ultimately serving as Director of Development for the Vice President of Student Affairs. During that time, she also helped manage her husband’s photography and videography business, giving her additional experience with owner-operated service businesses.

Today, Maureen draws on her career across manufacturing, consumer products, FDA-regulated medical devices, healthcare, e-commerce, retail, and service businesses to help owners prepare for and navigate the sale of their companies.

Maureen is a member of the Texas Association of Business Brokers and the International Business Brokers Association. She is based in Austin, Texas, where she serves as Board Treasurer for Trinity Child Development Center. Outside of work, she can usually be found in her garden or cheering on her kids at one of their many sporting events.
