During his time in the public accounting and advisory world, Van worked with both private equity and strategic clients, ranging from start-ups to large multinational companies. He specialized in driving growth by helping businesses plan and implement financing structures, and internal and external restructurings. He went on to work for two Fortune 500 companies, Tyco International and BHP, as an internal advisor to ultimately spin and divest non-core assets and entire business units.

Van returned to Texas in 2014 to help individuals and companies secure funding to meet their growth needs, and work with sellers to structure their transactions in order to identify buyers and maximize returns. “There’s something about helping business owners that I truly enjoy,” he says. “I just love helping people.”

Van has managed numerous mergers and acquisitions with valuations exceeding billions of dollars during his professional career and has raised millions in both debt and equity in his previous positions. He says, “This is one of the few industries where you can continue to learn and grow. While most of the process is the same, each sale provides a new challenge that keeps it from becoming mundane.” His peers consider him highly skilled in due diligence, mergers & acquisitions, and financial modeling.

Van is a member of the International Business Broker Association, and a Certified Business Broker by the North American Alliance of Business Brokers.
